Nancy Pelosi is calling for releasing oil from the Strategic National Reserve. In her statement, she said, “we’ve purchased it.” Funny how all of a sudden she cares about dirty oil.

Der Rushmeister made a great point and I’m going to expound on it. All of sudden for Ms. Pelosi, more oil will help! But in her stupid-liberal (redundant, I know) logic, oil from the National Reserve is GOOD oil, and plentiful oil drilled out of the vast pools of oil off shore or up in Alaska is BAD oil.

And, further, Ms. Pelosi believes that DRILLING for oil, which would produce much more gasoline, will NOT lower oil prices, but releasing a paltry amount of oil from the National Reserve WILL lower oil prices.

Is this woman retarded? Or is she just evil?

The real danger posed by not drilling here and why McCain's position is still unacceptable

"No blood for oil" is the battle cry of wild eyed moonbat. In their warped, twisted myopia, oil is just a luxury the world can do without.

Even as gas prices have risen to $4, the left has sneered that it's a good thing because it is changing behavior. When asked about rising fuel prices, Barack Obama responded only that he would have preferred "a more gradual rise". I'm sure struggling families would appreciate the sentiment. Al Gore suggests we can be Carbon-free in 10 years. A laughable suggestion, to say the least.

I stand in utter awe and amazement at the gall of liberal, elitist snobs who have no worldly clue with rising fuel prices (and, consequently, rising food prices) are doing to struggling consumers.

Yet, America, and the world doesn't seem to have a clue of the real danger. Folks, we have seen only the tip of this ice berg.

All that took place to cause this recent surge in oil prices are a serious of truly benign events. Benign, that is, in comparison to watch may yet unfold.

First, beginning in 2005, there has been no net increase in worldwide oil production. Not a decrease, mind you- just no increase. Second, Iran has been put on notice regarding tampering in Iraq and continuing it's move towards nuclear weapons. Third, the emergence of China and India as serious consumers for world oil. Fourth, a collapse of other investments- such as Housing-, combined with continual supply tightening, has made the oil markets a breeding ground for speculators.

That little bit- just a couple of turns on the ol' oil spigot- has crippled the airline industry, caused layoffs, made consumers to suffer, slowed the economy, and has people openly using the ''R'' word.
And everywhere I go, people ask me "How much worse can it get?"

Dare we contemplate the answer to that question?

Over the course of the last year, OPEC leaders have been dropping some not-so-subtle hints about their feelings about high oil prices. Paraphrasing.

Oil prices will remain high for the rest of 2008. Perhaps in 2009, after a new American President, they may begin to come down.

If America or Israel attacks Iran, there is no limit to how high oil prices will go.

To say that those statements have a threatening tone to them is to put it mildly. Is OPEC putting us on notice that they expect to dictate our elections and foreign policy? If so, what are the consequences of our non-compliance?

Have these psychotic, America-hating freaks bothered to ponder this?

What would $200 or -dare I say it- $300 oil mean to the world economy?

Jobs lost? Absolutely.

Hospitals shut down? Certainly.

People freezing? Not a doubt in the world.

In short, what level of suffering and death would result from a collapse of the entire world economy?
Less sickness? Less death from Natural disasters? Less war? Are you drunk??????

As the Wahabbists get more and more and more powerful and hold the world economy hostage, what limit could their be to the tyranny and suffering?

Yet, environmentalist wackjobs are forcing us into just that scenario by refusing to allow us to tap our own fuel supplies, here at home and putting us at the mercy of tyrants. What possible gains against Islamic terror have been lost due to our need to placate the brutal regime of Saudi Arabia - the incubator of Wahabbism?

Only when we control our own energy supply, can we approach the Saudis, Iranians, and others, stick in hand rather than hat in hand. Until then, our world is in peril. Any politician who opposes our own oil exploration is an enemy of America. John McCain is only beginning to wake up on this issue. Allowing optional drilling, off the OCS only, is not going to get it done. We need access to all the resources and now.

Alternative fuels are only a goal at this point. When someone invents a car that gets 200 mpg on water, great. Until then, not accessing every drop of oil we can is just reckless and irresponsible.
Now that American outrage is welling up and scientists by the thousands are rejecting the climate change hoax, we have a chance to move in that direction.

We spoke of similar sentiments this evening on several BTR shows. The more the press airs this guy's spoken off-the-cuff lunacy, the more he is exposed to the American People as an idiot. In an unrelated forum that forbids cut-copy-and paste, someone even stated something that at least caused me to stop and consider something. It reeks of conspiratorial stupidity akin to the Troofers but, stranger things have happened. It is one of those What If items to consider...(the following is a Snooper paraphrase and is not verbatim whatsoever) - "What If the media is setting this guy up for a major fall? I mean, the guy is a total dunce and says some pretty stupid things; more stupid than normal for even a liberal on crack. He is an embarrassment. Whereas the exact words will not be published here (my own version of what I read as stated), I cracked up. The forum is from a forum that I penetrated more than a year ago and the forum is a think-tank of a Liberal Collective. They say that Obama is destroying their chances of eventually taking this nation to a socialist state. It was said that if Obama is allowed to continue on this track, even "the deceived liberal contingents" will turn on this guy because the American People are not ready for an Obama socialist state. I thought that was interesting.

Along that line of thinking, it becomes more and more clear that Obama is indeed a blithering fool. Spree brings us a story yesterday that Obama cannot even remember what committees he is a member of and on what issues he has voted. Say what you want about McCain and all but he certainly hasn't done anything remotely as retarded as Obama has in the last 60 days in his entire lifetime. Hell, I am beginning to think that those that are claiming McCain's age is clouding his vision for America are actually speaking code-speak aimed at Obama. Maybe Obama has an early onset of that dreadful Sometimers Disease.

What really cracks me up is that this woman, Chancellor Angela Merkel, posted at Memeorandum actually thinks Obama is fit for duty. Simply amazing. Wow. Then again, it is an Al Reuters piece.

I suppose all that is being written about Obama is creating a Black Hole in which all of Obama's support is being sucked away so the Leftinistra have to invent issues like Al Anbar Province in an attempt to distract from the developing happenstance that Barack will soon be not an electable candidate for the DNC.

Nobama's Civilian National Security Forces Explained?

HT goes to the JPA Live BTR Show and Danger Girl for an article in Military Times, which is owned by Gannett which also publishes the USA Today newspaper. I called your attention to the MT's affiliation because the MT in no way and by no means whatsoever is linked to the "official" military news outlets. All "official" news outlets of the military are either .org or .gov. Any alleged military news outlet which has a .com or a .net designator should be taken with a grain of salt - or something of a lesser value. This, however, does not apply to blogs or bloggers for the obvious - even to the oblivious - reasons. To perform a back-check, please visit this site.

Now that the disclaimer has been provided, we will now take a look at this interview by USA Today staffers with Barack Obama, giving the inference that the military is interviewing Barack Insane Hussein Obama. Scurrilous does not even come close to the implications here, does it?

In this interview the following question was asked:

Q: You said you don't want to rob Peter to pay Paul, so how are you going to pay Paul? Troop increases are an enormous expense.

To arrive at the full intent and the presented answer - if you can call it that - one will have to read the entire interview. This interview is a near prefect case study for a pretty verbiage explanation as to how the would-be First Czar of the newly formed USSA (with a "k") will decimate the now United States Armed Forces. He claims that he wants to expand the military but what he doesn't say is that he intends on taking the punch our military has away from them. We will have a bigger military with a lesser punch. This sounds counter productive to me.

In conjunction with this and before we continue with this interview by USA Today staffers, please recall this statement: (where he mentions AmeriCorps and Peace Corps as the "civilians")

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."

That statement alone is scary but having it placed in context is frightening. Barack, in this interview, has placed it in context. One of the partners here at A Newt One, Loki, has stated that if Barack intends to utilize AmeriCorps and Peace Corps personnel to fill vacancies in embassies and missions "that have been boarded up", he certainly doesn't understand the United States Constitution that her has purported to have once been an instructor thereof. However, it gets worse than that. This has grown beyond the pale of frightening. Behold:

[...] I should add, by the way, that part of the change that I want when it comes to Army and Marine structures is the mix of training that we're providing and mix of personnel that are in these forces. One of the things I have been so impressed with is the heroic job that our men and women in uniform have done basically on the fly having to train themselves on the spot to function as engineers or function as social workers or function as translators or political consultants. There's just been a whole bunch of work that has been done that we haven't prepared people for. They learn on the job, but if anything Iraq should have given us a template for the kinds of skill sets that we're going to have to provide to our military. And that's true in Iraq. That's true in Afghanistan. That also means, by the way, that we're going to have to, I believe, reconfigure our civilian national security force. In a way that just hasn't been done.

I mean, we still have a national security apparatus on the civilian side in the way the State Department is structured and [Agency for International Development] and all these various agencies. That hearkens back to the Cold War. And we need that wing of our national security apparatus to carry its weight. When we talk about reinventing our military, we should reinvent that apparatus as well. We need to be able to deploy teams that combine agricultural specialists and engineers and linguists and cultural specialists who are prepared to go into some of the most dangerous areas alongside our military. [...]

Parse that.

This interview was published on 08 JUL 08, 6 days after his speech in Colorado Springs. However, he makes no mention of AmeriCorps or Peace Corps personnel but he does say this:

[...] Absolutely, but the only problem with soft power is the term itself makes people think it's not as strong as hard power. And my point is that if we've got a State Department or personnel that have been trained just to be behind walls, and they have not been equipped to get out there alongside our military and engage, then we don't have the kind of national security apparatus that is needed. That has to be planned for; it has to be paid for. Those personnel have to be trained. And they all have to be integrated and that is something that we have not accomplished yet, but that's going to be what's increasingly important in our future to make sure that our military has the support that it needs to do what it does the best, which is fight wars. [...]

And there you have it. He is going to arm State Department Personnel so they can fight along side the United States Military. He is going to utilize AmeriCorps and Peace Corps Personnel to go into areas the US Military does to be the Agents of Change. Case closed and checkmate.

Excuse me Barack but the US Military Special Forces already handle such activities. Does the Anbar Awakening ring a bell? Our military, in special detail, has the training you are babbling about and making it sound like this is a new concept and making it sound like a good idea because you thought of it. Sorry. The US Military has already been doing this for years and decades.

The Republican nominee [a] is pretty much well liked and he is running against an absolute lightweight [b], who will be a economic and foreign policy disaster. In an ordinary election year, it would be a slam dunk.

However, [c] this is no ordinary election year. An anti-Republican wave consumes America. Corruption and rising fuel prices are taking center stage. If the nominee does-against overwhelming odds- rally and win, he will be an instant lame duck, paralyzed by his association with [ d] a very unpopular predecessor.

His will- certainly- be a one term Presidency.

Ah.....but in the shadows, in the midst of the anti-GOP tide, an almost heroic figure is emerging. An extremely popular Governor who has ''future GOP star" written all over him. [e] Maybe he should be the running mate. Should he? Maybe?

No....He's not ready yet.....

Let's go with someone safe [f] .....but if we do fall short, just watch out for this new guy in 4 years!

McCain's Florida Flop

If yesterday's Rasmussen poll results had McCainiacs jumping for joy, this one will have them singing the blues. McCain has just collapsed in Florida. Over the last half a year, McCain has led in Florida by no less than 7 points (last month) and as many as 16. Now, he trails by 2.

Where unaffiliated voters have broken for McCain in Ohio and Colorado, in Florida the winds are blowin' the other way-at hurricane force.

Obama now leads by 23 points among these voters.

As the 4th biggest Electoral prize, and with McCain stuggling in so many places, Florida is an absolute must win for McCain to have even a prayer of November victory.

I cannot over emphasize how bad of a development this is for Johnny Mac. McCain really didn't need this.

There is no question that Rush Limbaugh is the king of radio political talk hosts. His show preparation is obvious as he fills three hours of talk show every day, five days a week, seemingly without effort. There’s a lot of effort that goes into preparing for a show like his. Ask any of us that do an hour on American Truth Warriors. After doing my show, I realize what a genius Limbaugh is.

[Sidebar: I just heard Limbaugh state that the second quarter profits at the New York Times is down 82%. EIGHTY TWO PERCENT! ]

Here at A Newt One, we have one person who puts that kind of effort into research and post-preparation. Sure, Sonlit, myself, Ben and the rest of our new contributors bring a lot of insight and perspective that you won’t see elsewhere, but one guy is busy nearly 24/7, reading news and digesting it into posts filled with linkage and substance.

That guy is Snooper. Snooper’s content astounds me. If you don’t hit A Newt One twice a day, you can’t keep up with the guy. His ability is not only that he is able to post a ton of content, but he keeps it all in context and refers back with links to previous ANO posts that add even more depth.

We are breaking records all the time here at A Newt One. Certainly, this year is going to be our biggest ever by far. Perhaps we would have gotten here eventually, but the way we pushed the accelerator to the floor and gained all this notoriety is due in great part to the tireless effort of our very own Snooper.

It is with great humility that I offer our most prolific writer at A Newt One a straight up SAAAAAAAAAAAAA-LUTE! Thanks brother Snoop. We’re indebted to you.

If you read between the lines, this has to be considered more good news for John McCain

Rasmussen Reports;

Over half of American voters (51%) now believe the United States and its allies are winning the war on terror, the highest figure recorded in nearly four years by Rasmussen Reports in a nationwide survey. Only 16% now think the terrorists are on top, while 27% view it as a stalemate. Prior to this week's survey, the number who believe the terrorists are winning had never fallen below 20%.

Though I'll certainly take the more encouraging numbers, I still find it disconcerting that 43% of America is still willing to entertain the idea that the terrorists are winning. What in the hell are they smoking?

Forty-two percent (42%) now think the situation in Iraq will improve over the next six months. That's up from 37% a week ago and 23% a year ago. Only 23% now expect things to get worse in Iraq, down from 49% last July.

Of course conditions will improve over the next 6 months. It is immediatly after that six monthe period-when an idiot will be sworn in as President- that there is reason to fear.

The gap also is narrowing dramatically between those who think history will judge the war in Iraq as a success - 36% now - versus those who think it will be viewed as a failure (39%).

Is America really this stupid? Only a total moron could honestly call this mission a failure! Nevertheless, these numbers cannot help but aid McCain.

I don't know what is more disgusting, Obama bathing in the undying love and devotion of the adoring, star struck, left wing media, or McCain whining about it like some spurned lover.

The whole episode makes me want to vomit, it really does.

What is most incredible is that John McCain seems to have suddenly discovered that there is media bias against Conservatives. It is rumored that later today, he will announce his discovery of gravity and fire.

But God bless Johnny mac, how could he have known?? A man who has spent his entire career knifing Conservatives in the back never really had time to learn what it must be like to actually be one. And how could he have known that the media boots he has licked to a polished sheen, would one day scurry off in pursuit of another man?

Global Cultural Jihad: The Enemies Within and Without

I ran across an article at the Counterterrorism Blog entitled, U.S. Congressional Representatives' Stance on Jihad and the War of Ideas. In this article, Representatives of the House are identified as those that opposed a key amendment to the House Resolution 5959, Intelligence bill on 2009 intelligence funding. The amendment dealt with what has been called the "terror lexicon". The amendment was initiated by Rep Pete Hoekstra (R-MI).

Hoekstra's amendment condemned efforts by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), and the State Department to recommend a "terror lexicon" that prohibits use of words such as "Jihad," "jihadist," "Islamist," "mujahadeen," "caliphate," etc. In this amendment, Congressman Hoekstra called for the House of Representatives to prohibit the use of intelligence funding in support of such "terror lexicon" efforts. The House Intelligence Committee voted against this amendment, and over 900 people signed a petition condemning the actions of the House Intelligence Committee that was sent to members who voted against the amendment. [...]

Through a series of fights, the amendment passed and is now part of HR 5959. The language is as follows:

"None of the funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act may be used to prohibit or discourage the use of the words or phrases 'jihadist', 'jihad', 'Islamo-fascism', 'caliphate', 'Islamist', or 'Islamic terrorist' by or within the intelligence community or the Federal Government."

However, this is not what the article cited or this post is about. What Jeffrey Imm is writing about are the Representatives that voted against the amendment in an attempt to rid the bill of this crucial amendment.

In the process of the fight for that which is right, Rep Hoekstra said the following: (emphasis added by moi)

"Al Qaeda itself uses these terms to describe its fight against America, our allies, and moderate Muslims around the world. Why then would we prohibit our intelligence professionals from using the same words to accurately describe al Qaeda's stated goals?"

"Yet that is exactly what some in Washington are attempting to do. I was dismayed to learn that over the past few months, intelligence bureaucrats at the State Department, the National Counterterrorism Center, and the Department of Homeland Security have issued memos imposing speech codes on how their employees can describe al Qaeda and other radical jihadist groups. They won't even be able to use the words these groups use themselves to describe themselves. These agencies within the intelligence community won't be able to use those words."

"Mr. Chairman, free speech should not be controversial, nor should candid, accurate, and fair discussion of the self-professed goals of the terrorists that attack our homeland and have sworn to kill more Americans."

"I find it more than ironic that some who have complained the loudest about politicization in the intelligence community would oppose this simple amendment to prevent the politically correct politicization of our Nation's intelligence community. We all know that political correctness can be the enemy of clarity."

"We also know that radical jihadists have made repeated efforts to stifle free speech in the West, including the murder of Dutch film maker, Theo van Gogh, and frequent death threats against authors, cartoonists, and journalists."

"Let's not give the radical jihadists a victory here by imposing a speech code on America's intelligence community."

"How will America understand the nature and the character of our enemy if we can't use the words that they use to describe themselves and we need to come up with a whole new language that is totally out of context with the enemy and the nature of the threat that we face today?"

To view the list and visit the web sites thus identifying the enemies within our very own Undistinguished and Dishonorable Halls of Congress, GO HERE and see if one of your non-Representatives is so listed and identified and then demand that they provide an answer to you as to why they try to coddle the enemy.

If one of yours is on this list, if they are up for re-election, vote for the other guy or gal. To no surprise to me at all, both Rep. Ray LaHood [R, IL-18] and Rep. Ronald Paul [R, TX-14] voted against it. Both surprising and unsurprising Rep. Jo Ann Emerson [R, MO-8] , Rep. Luis Fortuno [R, PR-0], Rep. Wayne Gilchrest [R, MD-1] and Rep. Frank Lucas [R, OK-3] all abstained from voting. So, there are six idiots that need to be replaced right there.

The rest are Democrats and, well, you know the drill.

Why Some Evangelical Christians Are Supporting Obama

If elected, Barack Obama would be the most liberal president in the history of the United States. There is no question that he carries a certain air of charisma that many folks have been looking for, despite the fact that it is empty charisma with no content, and no experience. His appeal to the younger voters, among those that I have spoken to, is his focus on social issues such as poverty. When asked about how his ideas will be implemented or paid for, the Obama supporters were, for the most part, unable to come up with any answers. When answers to those questions were given, the response was about redistribution of wealth - take from the rich to give to the poor. A Marxist philosophy.

Evangelical Christians who claim to be firm in their faith believe that giving to the poor, helping the unfortunate, and feeding the hungry are all important parts of being a Christian. However, due to the Christian concept of "free-will," Evangelicals have tended to be against entitlement programs, and feel that "voluntary" involvement with charity organizations or church organizations to give to the poor is more in line with what their faith teaches.

Younger Evangelicals, however, believe that the evangelical movement is gaining a bad reputation as being against things they should be supporting, such as helping the poor, and the younger Evangelicals generally feel that the older Evangelicals are not understanding the "changing" society we live in.

I agree that Christians should be encouraged to think about the issues and candidates using Biblical standards and convictions. That would mean that Evangelicals must think through the issues, which is a challenge in this election, but necessary if someone is going to make an informed decision. On the surface, to some Evangelicals, Obama seems to coincide with many Christian truths. After all, how can a Christian argue with taking care of those less fortunate, working together to achieve what is best for the community, and moving away from a violent thing such as war?

This is where Evangelicals must dig deeply before jumping on the Obama-churian candidate's bandwagon.

But my challenge to those Evangelicals that are considering Barack Obama is to consider the following questions:

What Christian can vote for a candidate that supports the taking of innocent lives (aka abortion)?

What Christian can vote for a candidate that even supports full-term abortion where the child is murdered as it travels down the birth canal?

Or a candidate that does not support giving medical assistance to abortion survivors, even though such medical assistance would save the lives of these babies?

Or supports Gay Marriage?

Or is willing to pull out of a war against an Islamic ideology whose two primary goals are to kill Jews and Christians?

Or what Christian can vote for a candidate that believes your voluntary choices to do things like help the less fortunate should be replaced or added to by the forced practice of entitlements paid for through raised taxes that teach dependency rather than independence?

So please forgive us, what we have committed (i.e. our defects); let all of us Be sacrificed for Your Cause And send Sakina (i.e. calmness) Upon us to make our feet firm When we meet our enemy, and If they will call us towards An unjust thing, We will refuse. Some man said, "O Allah's Apostle! Shall we throw away the meat and wash the pots instead?" He said, "(Yes, you can do) that too." So when the army files were arranged in rows (for the clash), 'Amir's sword was short and he aimed at the leg of a Jew to strike it, but the sharp blade of the sword returned to him and injured his own knee, and that caused him to die. When they returned from the battle, Allah's Apostle saw me (in a sad mood). He took my hand and said, "What is bothering you?" I replied, "Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you! The people say that the deeds of 'Amir are lost." The Prophet said, "Whoever says so, is mistaken, for 'Amir has got a double reward." The Prophet raised two fingers and added, "He (i.e. Amir) was a persevering struggler in the Cause of Allah and there are few 'Arabs who achieved the like of (good deeds) 'Amir had done."
